Please help us Feed the Orphans
Have you ever seen all the need in the world and ever wondered, … how can I help? The orphans and destitute children at Maisha feeding program may be the perfect way for you to do just that! The Maisha feeding program was established in 2006 when large number of children whose parents were victims of HIV/AIDs epidemic were identified in the primary schools at Omungi, Kadiju and Ayaro in Kisumu Kenya. Most were malnourished and unable to learn.

The response was to raise funds and establish a feeding program for the children. As a result, all the orphaned children attending these three schools are now given meals a daily meal of porridge, rice, beans, beef, and vegetables. For the most orphans, that meal is their only one that day, and in many cases they bring the food home to share with their families.

The cost of this feeding program is currently between 50 cents and $1.00 per child. Every day, we feed almost 200 children at a cost of $255 per week. Since the inception of Maisha feeding program, hundreds of children have benefited from this daily provision of food.

Facts on Maisha Feeding Program

• No Child is turned away because of their religion, race or ethnicity
• It takes only $1.00 a day to ensure that one orphan has a nourishing hot meal, and for only $30.00 per month one child would be fed 7 days a week for one month.
• Our goal is to feed is to reach $2,500 per month so that the growing number of orphans coming to one of these primary schools will be fed.
• Every penny that is raised through program goes directly to providing hot, nourishing meal for the orphans.
